A high leg recliner works in the same way as any other type of power or manual recliner – it just creates a higher seating area. One of the many benefits to this is style; higher, elongated silhouettes are modern and can be a refreshing change to skirted and other low-to-the-ground designs. High leg designs, though, are also functionally beneficial: sitting down and getting up can require less exertion on your part, since the chair’s height is further from the ground.
